Focus of the Week     ·      Literacy/Social Studies:             The Rainforest (Afternoon on the Amazon)     ·      Math: one more/one less, combining numbers, counting on Notes/Reminders      ·      Students are welcome to make Valentines Day cards for their classmates if they would like to. I will send home a class list today! Feel free to bring them in as soon as they are finished!      ·      We will go outside for recess every day this winter as long as the temperature is above 20 degrees. Children must wear boots and snowpants to play in the snow.      ·      Please help your children practice dressing (and undressing) in their winter gear, AND packing everything into their backpacks for the end of the day. THANKS!      ·      Many students at Thompson have been sick with the flu this week. Our class has stayed healthy so far, but just a reminder to keep your children home if they are not well. Thanks!

Focus of the Week      ·      Literacy/Social Studies: The Rainforest (Afternoon on the Amazon)      ·      Math: one more/one less, combining numbers, counting on Notes/Reminders      ·      Early Release 1/27 Students will be released at 1:00 (we will not eat snack)      ·      We will have a later lunch on Wednesday, 1/28. Students will eat at 11:35 (instead of 10:55) so we will eat snack in the morning on that day!      ·      Students are welcome to make Valentines Day cards for their classmates if they would like to. I will send home a class list with next week’s Friday Flash. Class Pet Pete the Pig is excited to spend the weekend with Ming!

We look at one of our familiar word patterns (_ing, for example) and I say different _ing words one at a time for the kids to write down (for example, I might say “ring, sing, king” and for a challenge “thing, swing,” etc).
